Xhosa is one of the 11 official languages of South Africa

Xhosa, one of South Africa’s 11 official languages ​​and spoken primarily in the Eastern Cape Province and the Transkei. It is also spoken in Botswana and Lesotho. It is related to Zulu, Swati and Ndebele and the four languages ​​are mutually understandable. Xhosa is both a tonal language and a click language. Anything that starts with “xh” triggers a click of the tongue on the palate. A pleasure for the ears. 

This South African language, spoken by Nelson Mandela and his tribe belongs to the Bantu language family. It is the second vernacular after Zulu.

Our isiXhosa courses are offered for anyone who wants to discover that beautiful language (children and adults) but also for native speakers in grades 1-12.

This course is intended for anyone who wants to learn and practice this language by working on the four language skills (oral comprehension, oral expression, written comprehension and written expression). Additionally, this course introduces Xhosa culture, which helps instill the cultural values ​​that are the basis of how we live as Xhosa-speaking people. Among these cultural values, there are proverbs and idioms which are the cornerstones and origin of our indigenous language as they describe our way of life.

Classes canceled by teachers (illness, personal impediment, etc.) and not replaced by the administration during the session will be made up for at the end of the session

A certificate will be issued at the end of the session to all students who have completed at least 70% of the course
Cannot follow lessons
