Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth 
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. Enrolment in a course and/or registration for an examination implies full acceptance of all terms below. 

– The Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth reserves the right to reject or refuse any application for student enrolment or examination registration at its discretion. 
– All fees (courses, materials, membership, and examinations) must be paid in full and in advance by credit card, debit card, or electronic funds transfer (EFT). 
– Registration is only considered valid once full payment and proof of payment have been received. 
– If an employer or third party intends to pay any fees, the student or candidate remains fully responsible should payment not be received by the due date. 

Fees and Payments 
– Enrollment and Tuition fees as well as course materials are payable in full and in advance. 
– Proof of payment must be provided before the start of the course in order to receive study materials. 
– By enrolling for a course, the student agrees to pay the full tuition fee, regardless of attendance. 
 
Refunds and Cancellations 
No refunds or credits will be issued for:  
– Partial attendance 
– Discontinued enrolment 
– Interrupted or missed classes 

If the minimum number of students required to open a group class is not reached, the Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth will offer one of the following:  
– Transfer to another class of the same level (subject to availability); 
– Postponement to a later session; or 
– Refund of tuition fees and material costs, provided materials are unused and unmarked. 
 
Attendance and Classes 
– Students are responsible for informing the teacher of any absence. 
– The Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth is not required to provide catch-up classes or compensation for missed lessons. 
– In the event of teacher illness or unavailability, classes may be postponed or assigned to a replacement teacher. 
 
Membership 
As a student of the Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth, you are entitled to membership for the full duration of your course contract. This membership entitles you to: 
– Access to the on-site library and reading room, including books, magazines, and DVDs; 
– Access to the digital library, Culturethèque (www.culturetheque.com); 
Member discounts on cultural events organised by the Alliance Française. 
– As a member, you will be automatically subscribed to the Alliance Française mailing list and will receive regular information about cultural activities, events, and news. 

Examination fees  
– must be paid in full and in advance. Registration is only confirmed once payment and proof of identification has been received. 
– Examination fees are non-transferable to another candidate or examination session. 
– By registering for an examination, the candidate agrees to pay the full examination fee, even if a third party intends to cover the cost. 
 
Candidates must:  
– Arrive on time; and 
– Present valid identification on the examination day. 
– Late arrival or absence may result in exclusion from the examination without refund. 
 
DELF, DALF, TEF, and TCF examinations are administered in strict accordance with French regulations set by the examination body. All instructions given by examination staff must be followed. 

Policy Scope 
– This policy applies only to physical goods purchased through the website. 
– All services are strictly non-refundable, including language courses, classes, workshops, examinations, cultural events, translation, venue rental, registrations, and memberships, unless required by law. 
Textbooks and course materials purchased together with a course are excluded from this policy and are non-refundable, even though they are physical goods. 
 
Definitions 
– Goods: Tangible, physical items sold separately on the website. 
– Order: A request to purchase Goods. 
 
Cancellation Rights (Goods Only) 
– Orders for eligible Goods may be canceled within 7 days before receipt, without providing a reason.

Return Conditions (Goods Only) 
To qualify for a return, Goods must be:  
– Purchased within the last 7 days 
– Unused, undamaged, and in original packaging 

Returns are not accepted for:  
– Items made to personal specifications 
– Perishable or expiring goods 
– Unsealed items for health or hygiene reasons 
– Goods inseparably mixed after delivery 
– Sale or discounted items, unless required by law 
 
Return Process 
– Customers are responsible for return shipping costs and risk. 
– Returns must be sent to: Alliance Française of Port Elizabeth, 17 Mackay Street, Richmond Hill, 6006, Gqeberha, South Africa 
 

– Alliance Française Port Elizabeth (AFPE) provides professional translation and interpretation services in accordance with its Translation and Interpretation Service Level Agreement (SLA), which must be signed prior to the commencement of any services.  
– The SLA governs all aspects of service delivery, including scope, quality standards, turnaround times, pricing, payment terms, cancellation conditions, confidentiality, intellectual property, and dispute resolution.  
– Any request for services or acceptance of a quotation constitutes full acceptance of the SLA, which forms the sole contractual framework between AFPE and the Client. 

– Alliance Française Port Elizabeth (AFPE) offers venue rental services in accordance with its Venue Rental Agreement, which must be signed prior to confirmation of any booking.  
– The SLA governs all conditions of use, including booking procedures, rental fees, payment terms, cancellation and refund conditions, permitted use of the premises, liability, damage, insurance requirements, and compliance with safety and legal regulations.  
– Any request to hire a venue, confirmation of dates, or acceptance of a quotation constitutes full acceptance of the SLA, which forms the sole contractual framework between AFPE and the Hirer. 

– The Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth complies fully with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013. 
– Personal information may be accessed, corrected, or deleted upon request by completing the relevant data access form.

In the course of its daily organizational activities, Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth acquires, processes and stores personal data in relation to: 
– Employees of Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth (HR Data)  
– Customers/Providers of Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth 

In accordance with the Protection Of Personal Information Act (POPIA), this data is acquired and managed fairly. Alliance Française de Port Elizabeth is  committed to anticipate and identify Data Protection issues, should one arise.
